Happy Monday!! I hope you all a had fantastic 4th of July. The hubs and I had an amazing day from morning to night.
To start off our Independence Day celebration we invited our family over for brunch at our new place. It turned out amazing. Jan did most of the hard work by taking care of all of the sides; eggs, omelettes, maple bacon, and smoked ham. I prepped the fruits and beverages, set the tables, and more importantly, had fun making waffles with my new Double Belgian Waffle Maker!! This waffle maker is the one thing that I really wanted to buy when we moved into our new place. I know that sounds silly, but it’s true! I love Belgian waffles! Hahah! They were a hit at our brunch, and they were so so sooo delicious!
After our brunch Jan and I went to the Berkeley Marina Festival. We had a blast. There was a live band, shopping, jumpers and play areas for kids, and lots of food trucks to choose from. Here’s some of the delicious food we had:
We concluded the night as every American should on July 4th, and that’s with a great fireworks show.
I definitely achieved my goal of being front and center for the fireworks. We were so close that Jan kept getting specs of dust in his eyes, and my glasses were misty from literally being steps away from the ocean.
I was totally freezing my butt off, but Jan wrapped me in a blanket and held me tightly to keep me warm… He’s such a sweetie.
Oh and here’s a little something I baked up for that day. I found this great recipe idea on Pinterest from recipegirl.com. It was quite easy to make and very tasty. Click here for the full recipe.
